Dave Allen V Love Joy  Betting

On the 31st of October heavyweight Dave Allen will take on Christopher Lovejoy in an interesting encounter. Allen was scheduled to face Christian Hammer, however after Hammers recent positive covid test, Matchroom was forced to find a new opponent for Allen.

In steps Christopher Lovejoy. American Lovjoy holds a 100% knockout record with 19 wins coming inside the distance.

When asked about the fight Allen said,  "He's a big, strong man and just look at his record - he's done what's been asked of him in those 19 fights.

"There's not much footage of him, so I don't know really know what I'm preparing for which adds to the intrigue but I'm going in there to do a number on him."

All but two of Lovejoy's victories have come in the very first round, with all his previous fights taking place in Mexico.

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn who has backed Allen for some time now said, "The truth is, he might be an absolute beast or he may get found out but for Dave Allen, it's a huge opportunity.

Who is Boxer Christopher Lovejoy?

Lovejoy is 36 years old and boasts a record of 19-0, 19 KOs. The american boxer has only ever fought outside of Mexico on one occasion, and he has only ever face one opponent with a winning record. Lovejoy, is ranked 15th in the world with the WBA governing body.

Lovejoy list of past opponents isn't the greatest, he beat his first 13 opponents by 1st round knockouts, and all his opponents have only 13 wins between them. Dave Allen will certainly be his toughest test to date and the odds look to be against lovejoy but its an interesting fight none the less.

Lovejoy is now 36 years old, which is just past prime years for a heavyweight, so he certainty needs to step up his opposition sooner rather than later to see how far he can go. There are only just over one hundred 200 pounds plus boxers based in Mexico at the moment. The top-ranked of those is just 8-0. Therefore, Lovejoy has to push on for the sake of his own legacy. To try to create something he can at least look back on a be proud of. The only way he can do this is to fight some live opposition. And to test himself to see just how good he can be - World Boxing News

When asked on the bout Lovejoy said "" finally made it here to the U.K!" said Lovejoy. "I'm here to shock the world and show what Chris Lovejoy is really about. Dave will end up number 20 on my record. I've travelled a long way so I just hope he shows up!"
